The self-regulated wine industry is pushing for product labeling to prove legal basis and certainty. This process is being pushed through the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for 2020. The proposal is meant formally for the wine industry with the freedom from the producers to include labels on the bottles, online or both.
Alcohol labeling has been pushed for by EU public health NGOs for a long time, insisting that the industry’s self-regulation approach is not meeting the need for nutritional information for consumers.
