On Monday, President Donald Trump and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, agreed to hold off on the controversial 100% tariff proposed on French goods, including wine.
The wine industry protested the tariff increase en masse, claiming it would be devastating for the category. Both government officials agreed to work together to avoid tariff escalation until the end of the year. However, a 25% tariff on some imported French wine remains in place in relation to the Airbus trade dispute.
