Product approvals for the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) decreased by 11.7% to 39,700 new products in the three-month period ending in June 2020. The decline was largely felt in imported products as a result of the pandemic and tariff threats, according to BW166. Imports accounted for 17,500 of approved products, down 25.3% from the same period last year, while domestic products accounted for 22,200, a 3.3% increase. Wine led the way for the quarter with 27,100 products approved, followed by beer at 8,600 and spirits at 4,000.
