One-third of consumers have returned to restaurants or bars within the last two weeks, primarily led by younger consumers, according to a new report from Nielsen CGA. The most popular channel for those returning to the on-premise is casual dining chains, followed by independent restaurants, and then sports bars.

Looking ahead, July 4th trends tend to skew toward off-premise in general, and this year, nearly half (49%) of consumers planning to celebrate say they will do so at home. Only 14% of consumers are expecting to celebrate in a restaurant or bar.
