Cold brew is widely known in the coffee world. Cold brew-flavored foods have become the latest trend in the food and beverage category with new products like cold brew ice cream and cold brew chocolate popping up with increasing frequency. Now the trend has entered the alcoholic beverage market with the first cold brew coffee-infused red wine blend coming to market.
The producer, a winemaker at Apothic Wines, is a self-proclaimed cold brew lover who came up with the idea said that she “realized that many of the characteristics in cold brew coffee and red wine naturally complement each other”. The team began experimenting with flavors to create red wine blends, eventually ending up with the perfect blend of red fruit notes with subtle mocha flavors. This blend became known as Apothic Brew and is expected to hit store shelves in small-batch release this summer.
