Interstate shipping has long been an area of contention because consumers are expecting more variety and better choices. There are statements from the state’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT), requesting that the state permit out-of-state retailers to ship wine into Florida. The outcome in Florida is strongly tied to how the Supreme Court rules on Tennessee vs Byrd on January. Byrd will determine the effect on other states, and the rest of the retail, wholesale and winery industry will have to wait for the outcome.
