For the month of September, online alcohol sales were up over 250% compared to last year, and still continue to outperform most other consumer good categories, according to recent report from Nielsen.
Spirits led online alcohol growth increasing over 350%, followed by beer/FMB/cider up 274%, and then wine up 234%. Wine has long held the most share of online alcohol sales, but spirits and beer are closing the gap. Wine share of alcohol sales is down 4.5 points from last September.
