The U.S. has recently become the first overseas market to hit the billion-dollar mark for Scotch. The export value of Scotch Whiskey grew 7.8 percent by value in the past year and the number of bottles exported have also reached new levels, as they increased by 3.6 percent. The strength and acceleration of Scotch Whiskey has defeated the challenges that have been posed by Brexit. This consistent growth is partially due to the U.S. market, which recently rose to 1.04 billion pounds, roughly equal to 1.35 billion US dollars, making it the largest export market in the world for Scotch. Some other large Scotch markets include India, Mexico and France.
