Sales of Oregon wine are up a strong 17 percent over the last 12 months, according to Nielsen data, believed to be driven by what many are considering outstanding recent vintages coming from the state. That’s in comparison to a 2.8 percent increase for all wine and increases of only 2.3 percent and 3 percent for Washington wine and California wine, respectively. The surge has been so great in fact that it has pushed Oregon ahead of both of its more well-known wine producing neighbors of California and Washington in terms of sales growth. Some analyst and industry experts have gone a step further and are calling the 2016 vintage of Oregon wine the best in the nation this year.
