Spirits such as vodka, gin and rum increase in sales throughout the summer, although in the lead is tequila. Tequila sales rose to 40 percent in dollar sales in 2017 with an 8 percent increase specifically in through the weeks leading to the Fourth of July within on premise platforms. Off-premise channels distributed $106 million in flavored spirit sales throughout July 2017, attributing to the national holiday.
On premise throughout May 2017 to September 2017, gin sold 39 percent, while 8 percent attributed to the four week period during July 4th. In the same time frame, rum sold 39 percent, and gained 8.1 percent in sales during the four week period during July 4th. Tequila sold 40 percent through May 2017 to September 2017, and gained 8 percent throughout the four week period during July 4th. Vodka sales amounted to 38 percent through May 2017 to September 2017, and gained 7.7 percent in sales through four week period during July 4th.
Off premise throughout May 2017 to September 2017, gin sold 34 percent, while 5 percent attributed to the four week period during July 4th. In the same time frame, rum sold 33 percent, and gained 5 percent in sales during the four week period during July 4th. Tequila sold 33 percent through May 2017 to September 2017, and gained 5 percent throughout the four week period during July 4th. Vodka sales amounted to 33 percent through May 2017 to September 2017, and gained 4.5 percent in sales through four week period during July 4th.
