While just about half of consumers have returned to the on-premise since bars and restaurants reopened, that number has been steady over the last three months, according to the latest report from Nielsen CGA. This suggests that we may have reached a plateau for consumers that are willing to return on-premise unless a vaccine is made available or there is another special change in circumstances.
For now, visits to the on-premise for drinking occasions are mostly still coming from younger consumers, though older consumers are just as likely to return on-premise for food. As more drink-led venues reopened, non-craft Domestic Beers took the top spot for the most ordered drink last week.
