As consumers prepare for the easing of pandemic restrictions, market research firms are examining potential behavior shifts. Consumers have reduced their number of regular shopping trips and increased their basket size, with IRI data showing that the basket size index for beverages reached a high of 112 for the week ending in April 12.
50% of consumers plan to continue buying groceries online or would be willing to, according to a survey from Chicago-based marketing agency Blue Chip. A report from Datassential showed 20% of respondents saying they would “absolutely” dine-in right away, while 39% said they “might consider” it.
