Craft beer consumption has steadily increased in the U.S. over the last 10 years. The common weekly craft consumer is predominantly male, between the ages of 21-34, with an income of $75,000 to $99,000.
In 2018, surveys indicated that craft beer consumers are 49 percent men and 31 percent women. This is an increase from 2015’s statistics of 46 percent men and 25 percent women. The female consumption of craft beer is expanding due to the introduction of targeted marketing strategies and producers providing wider craft beer options such as beers that are more crisp, fruity or have sweeter flavors than the more commonly consumed IPA’s, or India pale ales.
