Third-quarter data shows that nearly all of the product segments in the popular price tier for wine and spirits declined during the period, indicating consumers are still buying higher-end brands, according to a new report from SipSource.
The off-premise continues to be the lifeline of the industry with spirits leading the way up 5.3% and wine up 0.1%. This is the first time that off-premise wine has been in positive territory since September 2018. However, on-premise share of depletions for wine and spirits is expected to be half of what it was before COVID by the end of the year.
