The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued guidance Thursday afternoon outlining a series of steps bars, restaurants, and workplaces should take to keep employees and customers safe as states begin to reopen. For starters, bars and restaurants should not reopen until they can follow state and local orders, and until they’re ready to protect people who are at higher risk for severe illness. Beyond that, they should encourage social distancing, drive-through service, self-serve station and restrict shared spaces.
