Canned wine has been steadily growing in popularity, seeing a doubling in growth year over year. 2019 is expected to meet and possibly even exceed that number. Thirty percent of craft beer is now sold in cans, and wine is anticipated to follow suit. BW 166 LLC, an alcohol market research firm, found that sales of canned wine in the past year rose just over forty three percent. Surprising considering that canned wine is currently only two percent of the entire wine category, with ninety percent being bottles and the remaining eight percent being boxed and bagged wine. Experts predict that by the end of the year canned wine will be a 50 million dollar business annually and expected to grow to a staggering thirty percent of the entire wine category within the next five years.
