Italian drinks company Gruppo Campari is setting its sights on bigger acquisitions following years of bolt-on deals. Last week, Campari entered exclusive negotiations with privately-owned French company Sarl Ficoma to buy 80% of the Lallier Champagne brand. With this acquisition, Campari would become the first Italian player in the French champagne sector.
“The world of spirits is consolidating quickly and we’re ready for even much bigger deals than we’ve completed so far … in the future we’ll need to conduct important operations,” says Gruppo Campari CEO Bob Kunze-Concewitz
